From the Autobiographical to the Universal
As an artist, I serve as the steward and the ax man to art’s legacy. Studying with art conservators and looking to art’s past has informed my choice to revitalize the archaic tradition of painting. Building upon the narratives of religion and mythology, these are cautionary tales. My own story is ages old but also likely a cliche. To create these paintings, I cut and serve up the reinvigorated past to be contemplated in context of the contemporary.
